Job Summary:

Seeking a seasoned System Engineer with 5+ years of experience in server & storage ops for our client in the government sector. We are looking for strong proficiencies in Linux, Windows, and cloud platforms, with proficiency in IT automation and orchestration tools. Responsibilities include driving tech architecture, ensuring adherence to security policies, and resolving complex system issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Server (Virtualization, Linux, Windows) and Storage (SAN & NAS) operations and administration, ensuring adherence to IT Security policies and IT Best Practices (e.g., ITIL processes).
  • Drive technology architecture design, upgrades, and day-to-day operations of Server and Storage systems.
  • Implement and maintain IT Automation and Orchestration solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex system abends and abnormal operating problems using system logs and other available resources.
  • Ensure compliance of all system environments with security guidelines and oversee testing, implementation, and installation of subsystems and associated software.
  • Install, customise, and administer advanced system and application tools running on Servers.
  • Lead problem analysis and resolution implementation to support system and application needs.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, administering, and maintaining servers/storage based on Linux OS (SuSE, Red Hat), and Windows OS with proficiency in disk storage and backup technologies.
  • Proficiency in Docker Containers, Kubernetes, and setting up/managing commercial cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure As Code and IT Automation Tools such as Ansible, Puppet.
  • Willingness to work beyond business hours, including weekends when necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of proficiency in written and oral English.
